Second Movement

We move, the earth moves,
animals, plants, houses,
waters, sky, air,
all creation moves.

Second Movement

This is my third poem,
birthing, like a second
movement of symphonic sound
words are springing forth,
flourish for a moment
in time to give people
meaning, then wither
and die.

Pondering an Ideological and Political Absurdity

As I opened my gift of a Dexxa mouse and
read "made in China," I pondered aloud with
Julianna: what an ideological and political absurdity
our world has created, thanks to communism and capitalism.

I grew up with the premise that communism and capitalism
were ideological and political enemies par excellence.
Communism was evil and of the devil; while capitalism was good, divinely ordained, and destined to rule the roost.

Capitalism and communism supposedly could not rest
secure till "the enemy" was completely liquidated.
There was no room for compromise or cooperation,
it was either-or, all or nothing, till the war was won.

Now the capitalist nation, who worship at the altars
of competition and free market-controlled economies,
rely on China, a comunist nation to produce goods
for democratic nations, at bargain basement prices.

Capitalist nations, depending on communist China to exploit,
oppress, and deprive their own citizens of universal human
rights, in order that "democratic" citizens in the West might preserve their capitalist system and consume themselves to death.
